Biography
My passion for serving students and learning along the way is evident when helping students explore their potential future careers during my work at the University of Colorado Boulder. Originally from the Midwest, Evan earned his bachelor's degree in psychology, with an emphasis in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2014 and made the move to Colorado to earn his master's in counseling and Career Development from Colorado State University in 2015. I began working at CU career services office in 2016 and I help students determine interests, strengths and goals related to the science fields. My role includes assessing class interests, determining meaningful extracurricular activities and assisting with the application process for various graduate programs. I have past experience overseeing the Pre-Health program at the University of Colorado Boulder, and now work closely with training and supervision for graduate interns withing the Career Services office.
I love this work due to the immense growth and engagement you can glean from it and additionally believe helping listen and support someone who may not have that support, drives me to continue to do more. As a first-generation student, I didn't know what questions to ask while navigating college, so I invite all of my students to use a collaborative approach with me on any and all issues they may be encountering. I am trained in various areas of assessment interpretation, supervisory experience, presenting and counseling skills.
Some of my hobbies are hiking, fishing, being outdoors and football. Go Pack Go!
