We are excited to announce the Fifth Annual Colorado ACE Student Leadership Conference, now known as the (SC)2 (Successful Career Students of Colorado) Conference, on April 11, 2014. Alternative Cooperative Education (ACE) is the division of Career and Technical Education designated for students considered at-risk of dropping out and/or students in special education. This event brings together students from across the state to demonstrate their job readiness and business skills. We are thrilled you are considering participating!
The (SC)2 Conference offers students the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in the following areas:
Career Planning
Event Planning
Interviewing
Job Application Completion
Customer Service
You’re the Boss
Entrepreneurship
Personal Finance
In past years, students have competed against grading scales rather than against other students (Skill Demonstration Events). This year, we will have events where students may choose to compete against each other (Competitive Events). The students placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each of the respective event(s) will earn a plaque and the bragging rights of being the best in the area of Career Planning, Interviewing, Customer Service and/or Entrepreneurship. If you want to judge one of these events, please make sure you note this intention when you REGISTER to judge.
The (SC)2 Conference is on April 11th at the Conference Center at Lowry Campus, which is located at 1061 Akron Way, Denver, CO 80230. The time commitment for judges is from 8:30am to 11:30am on the day of the competition, during which time you will participate in three events. You will be scoring students based on prepared grading scales/rubrics, which can be found at our website, http://www.coloradostateplan.com/ACE_CTSO.htm . Following a continental breakfast and judges’ orientation meeting, the competition will begin at 9:30. You are welcome to leave when the competition ends at 11:30, or you may join us for lunch and the remainder of the program.
