Join the Colorado Career Development Association for our Spring Conference, “Shaping Tomorrow: Navigating the Future of Work in Colorado and Beyond.” This dynamic event will feature insights from the leader of Colorado’s Office of the Future of Work, Katherine Keegan, who will share strategies to prepare for workforce transformations driven by economic shifts, technological advancements, and evolving workplace norms. Discover actionable solutions on topics such as the impact of AI on careers, economic shifts shaping industries, and how our government may influence workforce policies and opportunities. Through engaging sessions and collaborative discussions, gain the tools to guide clients toward resilience and success in the changing economy. The conference will consist of the following major elements (bios and content details below):

  • We are honored to welcome Katherine Keegan, Director of Colorado’s Office of the Future of Work, as our keynote speaker. Katherine will share invaluable insights on the transformative trends shaping the future of work and strategies to create future-ready workers, businesses, and communities. With extensive experience in developing forward-thinking policies and programs, she will provide actionable strategies to prepare for the evolving workforce landscape. 
  • Our state is rich with a wealth of expertise across innumerable subject areas; we've recruited several local professionals to lead workshops on topics of interest including working with undocumented clients, AI's impact on the future of work, workforce policies with a new government, and more. Conference attendees will be given the opportunity to choose two sessions to attend from amidst multiple workshop options. 
  • We will connect with fellow career practitioners from around the Rocky Mountain region, supporting one another in problem-solving, resourcing, and reinforcing our sense of purpose and confidence in the work we do.

A more specific agenda will be available in the coming weeks, but please plan for a 8:30am-4:00pm event at the location listed below. Check in will be from 8:30-9:00am with coffee and pastries available throughout the morning; lunch will be provided, and parking free. Register by March 10th for an early bird rate and either become a CCDA member or renew your membership for a significantly discounted membership price. An optional happy hour will follow the event for anyone desiring to join for some additional time to connect.

Training Details & Speaker Bio

Katherine Keegan, Director, Office of the Future of Work

Katherine began her career working with immigrants and refugees in Boston. This work led her to pursue a master’s of science in social work at The University of Texas at Austin. Since then, Katherine has managed AmeriCorps, workforce readiness, and career coaching development programs in Texas, Indiana, and Colorado. In August 2019, she joined the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment as the Director of the Office of the Future of Work leading the state’s efforts to raise awareness about the future of work, build digital access, and through the State Apprenticeship Agency, expand access to registered apprenticeship programs.

In this presentation, the State of Colorado’s Office of the Future of Work will provide an overview of key future of work trends that are shaping Colorado’s workforce and economy and strategies to create future-ready workers, businesses, and communities.
