Biography
I am a certified career counselor—a nationally recognized credential from the premiere career development association—and have extensive experience and training in mental health and career development. I have over 10 years of experience as a mental health counselor, career counselor and coach, working with a wide variety of clients ranging in ages from 15 to 80+ years old on topics ranging from exploring self and identity, defining meaningful and decent work.
My experience focuses in on the unique career development needs and experiences of underserved populations, including undocumented individuals, LGBTQIA+, and women in STEM. I believe many individuals feel tension with their careers because of a friction between themselves and the places where they work. I work alongside clients, using researched based theories like career construction, strengths based and solution focused strategies. As a queer person who has navigated being out at work, it is my goal that through our work, clients are empowered to make lasting change in their personal and professional lives. Some of my favorite career highlights include serving on the National Career Development Association’s (NCDA) Government Relations committee, and being selected as a member of their Leadership Academy, a unique mentorship program where members develop research to further career development access. I’d love to hear more about your favorite career moments and ones you’d like to have more of!
