Biography
Lauren “LJ” Jones, is a licensed School Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, past Expeditionary Learning teacher and past Statewide Outreach Coordinator for Colorado’s free guidance website: www.CollegeInColorado.org. Currently, as the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Program Director for Special Populations, Counseling and Equity with the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) Lauren bridges the gaps between k-12 school districts and post secondary institutions by providing trainings that help support the implementation of comprehensive career guidance programs and collaborative efforts that parallel Colorado’s education initiatives (ICAP, PWR, POS and more…). Lauren also coordinates the implementation of Middle School CTE programs (www.coloradostateplan.com/middleschool.htm) as well serve as Project Manager for Equity in CTE .

She is the recent award recipient of the 2013 Career Guidance Award with CACTE, 2012 School Counselor Advocate of the Year, 2015 National Alliance of Partnerships for Equity (NAPE) Rising Star Award

In her spare time, Lauren can be found nurturing and harvesting her garden, exploring the globe with an interest in mastering the Spanish language, reading her favorite magazine “The Sun” all while her cats, Tallulah and Pinot, prance gleefully around her backyard.
